Starring: Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Andy Garcia, Don Johnson & Alicia Silverstone
Diane is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage, Vivian enjoys her men with no strings attached, Sharon is still working through her decades-old divorce, and Carol’s marriage is in a slump after 35 years. The lives of these four lifelong friends are turned upside down after reading the infamous “50 Shades of Grey,” catapulting them into a series of outrageous life choices.
No matter how you feel about the Fifty Shades of Grey books (I for one, cannot stand them), it’s a treat to watch this quartet of excellent actresses on screen together in this entertaining comedy.
You can see that these four terrific actresses are having so much fun whilst portraying the various degrees of sisterhood, sex and hope.
It’s smarter than what I thought it was going to be, and when Carol and Bruce eventually come to an understanding, I was delighted to be so moved. The same ultimately goes for the entire film.
If you’re looking for a sweet film that doesn’t need car chases, explosions, or explicit sex scenes to sell the story, then settle in and enjoy this light hearted and thought provoking movie.
