Small-town best friends Hallie, Chloe, Wren and Katie go online to try and conjure up the Slender Man — a tall, thin, horrifying figure whose face has no discernible features. Two weeks later, Katie mysteriously disappears during a class trip to a historic graveyard. Determined to find her, the girls soon suspect that the legend of the Slender Man may be all too real.
This movie was 1 hour and 31 minutes… which was almost 1 hour and 30 minutes too long.
Promising source material and a decent cast are squandered in a stale, boring, formulaic J-horror wannabe.
It was just a bad movie, in every possible way. Based on a viral 2009 internet meme that gave plenty of people the creeps, it ended up suffering from being a lazy horror movie filled with naff, worn-out scares, crude effects, jump scares, and poor storytelling.
I came out of Slender Man with so many questions due to the amount of plot holes, but I’d rather just not think about it.
