To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the others, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.
I kinda wish I could purge this movie from my memory.
The First Purge is shoddily written and dreadfully acted, unlike the first two films (the third was weak but not this weak), and the political subtext has got to a point where it’s a bit too much. Whatever happened to being subtle?
This is supposed to be the first ever annual purge, but yet the second the announcement starts, all the residents are loco crazy, riding around on bicycles laughing, and walking like zombies mumbling the word “purge”… wouldn’t this be something which would happen years in the future? Not day one.
This movie is stupid, no – ridiculous! The writing, especially the dialogue is so cringeworthy, one which sticks to mind is “pussy grabbing bastard!” SUBTLE.
I for one will not be watching The Purge 5 if it happens.
