The Spy Who Dumped Me tells the story of Audrey and Morgan, two best friends who unwittingly become entangled in an international conspiracy when one of the women discovers the boyfriend who dumped her was actually a spy.
This really is an enjoyable female buddy romp that delivers sharp action and solid laughs from start to finish.
Granted it will never be the greatest spy parody around, it gives it a shot in this R-rated Bond-ish spoof.
Espionage is not what this movie is about, and romance isn’t either. The engine that drives the plot and sparks the jokes is between the friendship between Kunus and McKinnon’s characters – giving you major friendship-goal-envy!
McKinnon steals every scene she’s in (as always), and you really get a bead on her peculiar genius.
So next time you need a movie for ladies night (not girls night, this is definitely not a kids film) pick this hilarious, energetic comedy up.
